GxAmplifier-Stereo-X volume drop when looping in Ardour

I noticed a problem with the GxAmplifier-Stereo-X plugin in Ardour when looping:

The Cabinet knob is turned up quite high. When playing a loop in Ardour, everything sounds fine for the first loop, but as soon as the second iteration starts, the plugin volume drops dramatically and stays low permanently. When I move the Cabinet knob or cut/paste the plugin, the volume jumps back to the original level.
