Core dumped if you use letter with accent in *.gx file(s)

Postby grigri » Sun Aug 20, 2017 2:54 pm

Hi,

thank you very much for this marvellous application Guitarix.

Because I'm French sometime I use accent on letters like é,è,à, etc...

And when I do this in a *.gx files, where we can save our "pedal-board" configuration, Guitarix doesn't want to start again with this error message :
~$ guitarix
Erreur de segmentation (core dumped)

Now I know this problem and will not use letter with accent in the future.

But if you can filter these type of letters before to save *.gx file or put a message to change these letter to the same letter without accent, I think it could help people like me.

Many thanks again for this application.

Best regards,
Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas

Which version do you use?
As a vowel mutation scanner is implemented since some time now.

Thanks for the reply,

I use the Guitarix version installed by default on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Guitarix:gx_head 0.34.0

Probably I have to wait a little bit before to switch to this new version with this bug fixed.

Thanks,
nicolas

For ubuntu 16.04 I've a guitarix repository here:
https://software.opensuse.org//download ... =guitarix2

If you like to update, just add this one. :metal2:

Perfect :-)

after to have uninstalled the 0.34.0 version.

I've got now the 0.35.6 on my unbutu 16.04 LTS version

and I've got a little window with the error message which specify that I cannot use letters with accent if I try to save a configuration with a name using accent letters... :metalbanana:

Thanks for all,
Nicolas.
