GXTuner plugin in Ardour

Postby Broomy » Wed Aug 23, 2017 7:47 am

I'm using GXtuner as a plugin. To my ears it seems that when the plugin is on there's is some high frequency roll off. Could that be the case? If so, what could be asolution?

Yes, seems I need to rework it a bit. :?

Solution for now could be, go to the Pin Configuration tab, select manuelle configuration for GxTuner and delete the audio output. After that, you add it again and then connect directly from the input to the output. This will bypass the tuner engine for the output.

hermann

PS. Thanks for the report, I'll fix this as soon I've some time.

Hermann,

Do you know when the GXTuner gets updated in the KXStudio Repo?
Installing from the repo still gives the old version.

Can I check the version of the plugin?

Hi Hans

I don't know when falktx update something in kxstudio. He do it on sporadic level.
The fix is included in V0.36.0, you can't check plugin version, but you could check guitarix version, just enter
Code: Select all
 guitarix -v
to get the version you've.

hermann

Which version of Ubuntu do you run? 16.04?
I've a ubuntu repository lately, and may push the latest release to it, so you could grab it from there.

Just checked: It's the most recent version.
I'll will do some tests tomorrow, but last time I checked (sunday), I could still hear a high cut when I turned the tuner on.

Rechecked the laptop where I was hearing the difference.
There was something wrong with the kxstudio repo settings.
After reinstalling the repo it update Guitarix to 0.36.
Issue is now solved.

Great!

Is it possible that I may use that?
Is it possible to push the latest version of GxTuner to that repository as well?
