guitarix virtual versatile amplification for Jack/Linux

a virtual guitar amplifier for Linux running with jack (Jack Audio Connection Kit).
It takes the signal from your guitar as any real amp would do: as a mono-signal from your sound card. Your tone is processed by a main amp and a rack-section. Both can be routed separately and deliver a processed stereo-signal via Jack. You may fill the rack with effects from more than 25 built-in modules spanning from a simple noise-gate to brain-slashing modulation-fx like flanger, phaser or auto-wah,
or you can also select plug-ins from the large list of LADSPA and LV2 plug-ins.
Though we design guitarix with guitar-signals in mind there is nothing wrong with connecting a synth or any other sound-generator with it

  • I am on Arch. - the official package core dumps. - when compiling from source i get : Build failed -> task in 'gx_amp_stereo' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gx_amp' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gxautowah' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gx_chorus' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gx_compressor' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gx_delay' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gx_amp' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) -> task in 'gx_amp_stereo' failed with exit status 1 (run with -v to display more information) These errors are caused by source code errands like : ../src/LV2/DSP/gx_common.h:95:9: error: ‘uint32_t’ was not declared in this scope ../src/LV2/DSP/gx_common.h:95:9: note: ‘uint32_t’ is defined in header ‘<cstdint>’; did you forget to ‘#include <cstdint>’? Apparently some code refactoring is needed... Cheers Daniel
  • Not perfect, but worth 5 stars. I've paid for other things, and prefer this.
  • One of the most impressive FOSS audio projects I've seen so far. This is much more than just a simple signal processing chain, containing tools to model your own hardware, portable plugins for music production and live use.
  • Really well done, thanks a lot to all developers and people involved. You are able to get a high quality guitar sound out of it.
  • Guitarix has been around for years, if you try to take their X-stereo preamp out of my hands, I'll yell very loud :) Seriously, guys, with the MOD coming? You f***ing blues.
